A Little of This and...

I am a total home body. I basically go no where. It's just not worth it to me to drag both of my kids anywhere at the same time. I know a lot of moms do it, but I am not one of those moms! I'll admit, I get bored from time to time with not a whole lot to do. I should pick up a hobby or two because, lets face it, I can't always be decorating cakes. Besides that, I hate to decorate with Logan around; he slows the process and makes me mad all at the same time.

Anywho...as a result of my home bodieness, you get to enjoy random pictures and videos of my two little devils...uh, I mean, angels. I understand if you think the videos are random and boring, but I think my mom enjoys them well enough, so that's reason enough for me to share them.
This hair is very unmanageble.

This is post bath. I wanted to get some cute pictures of that monkey meat you see behind her head. I'm pretty sure this was when she was peeing on my rug. I'd be mad, but I set myself up for it!

I feel very blessed to be able to stay home every day with my two cuties. Some days I feel like I'm going crazy, but really, I'd be more crazy being away from them. Well, there actually is an exception to that. I think I could manage a week long separation if it meant James and I could go on a cruise. What's that? Who's volunteering to watch them that long? I can't quite hear you, who was it? Oh...nobody? That's what I thought. *sigh* Oh well...like I said before, I'm very blessed to be able to stay home every day with my two cuties. :-D

Videos

Just a couple of videos to share with you. Neither are really great, but both are a little funny in their own ways.

In this first one, I was telling Logan that I wanted to take his picture, which I'm sure you'll gather once you press play.

Don't worry, Lizzy's fine. :)

A Day I Wasn't Bored

Right now, I am bored. I'm waiting for James to get home from work so we can take Logan to Arctic Circle to release some pent up energy. It's raining outside right now and he is begging me to go on "the slide". Anyway, as a result of my boredom, I decided to do a quick post.

A couple of weeks ago we took Logan to the Salt Lake County fair. Luckily, for us, it was fairly dead. That means no lines. This was Logan's first time on any kind of ride, so it was exciting to take him.

He talked about riding on these motorcycles for the next couple of days.

Oh, and he LOVED riding on the horsey.

He was less than thrilled with this ride. In my defense, James and I thought this was going to be a mild ride, you know, just go in circles kind of thing. The fair was so dead that we hadn't seen this ride in action. We had to get the operators attention just so we could get on. Anyway, this ride had some g-force happening. Logan was whimpering the whole time and I was willing him not to throw up.
After the rides, we did a quick stop at the petting zoo. Sorry, no pictures of that! Logan almost liked the animals. He wanted to pet them, but was nervous when touching any animal. Strange child.
Oh well, we had fun at the fair!
Rats...that only took me 5 minutes. James still isn't home.

For Mom

I took these pictures for one specific reason. To share with my mom. Unfortunately, the reason I took them is difficult to detect. So, Mom, you may be wondering, "Why did Alicia take these pictures for me to look at"? Well Mom, figure it out! In the mean time, the rest of you get to enjoy the cuteness that is Lizzy.

This last picture just cracked me up. I was just trying to take another picture of Lizzy when her hand appeared out of nowhere!

The video is nothing extra special, just another helpful hint as to why I took the pictures for my mom.

ABC's

I vaguely remember the evening that these pictures were taken. All I really remember is that Logan was asking me to take his picture, but then when I got the camera out, he did his regular act of trying to run away from it! It seems that at one point James got a hold of the camera, thereby explaining the frighting pictures of me. That part I don't remember.
I believe that is James' foot on Logan's head. Probably trying to hold him down for the picture.

In this picture, I think I had told Logan to smile.
This was him trying to not smile and to get away, all at the same time.

A semi good moment.

Here James has the camera. I'm pretty sure he was trying to capture a shot of Logan.
James likes this pictures because he thinks I look like a Zombie.

I have no real explanation for this picture.

Like most people, we have our bedtime ritual for our kids. That includes brushing teeth, going to the bathroom, reading stories, saying prayers, and of course, singing songs. A new habit for Logan is to jump on his bed through all of singing time. I allow it because, 1. He knows he's only allowed to jump on his bed, 2.It's an old bed that we plan on replacing in the near future, and 3. I figure he is wearing himself out and that means he'll fall asleep faster.
Anyway, I absolutely love watching him jump and sing at the same time. I don't know why, probably just because I'm his mom and I like silly things like that. Because it brings a smile to my face I thought I would share it will all of you. I won't be offended if you don't smile. However, I will be offended if you think I'm a bad mom for letting him jump on the bed. You all get to screw up parenting your children, let me screw up mine in peace!
Oh, and we usually sing with him, but his actual singing is a fairly new occurrence, so I thought it would be good to capture him singing alone.

11:11 is Haunting Me, I Com!

I have problems falling asleep at night...it's a result of having children. Anyway, I have strange thoughts at late hours and one of my strange thoughts from last night is that I should share the following two stories with you. I apologize now if they bore you.

About three years ago, James and I started being haunted, and if you read the title of my post you will know that we are haunted by the time, 11:11. All this means is that we see that time on the clock nearly every day. We're not trying to, and most of the time we are in bed for the night with the lights off. Where we have cursed ourselves is that we have a projection alarm clock, so we can see the time on the ceiling with the lights off. We don't lay awake with our eyes open waiting to see this time. For example, last night we were talking to each other; James shifted positions in bed and we both opened our eyes only to notice that it was 11:11. The night before, James had fallen asleep around 10:30, but woke up to shift and it was 11:11. I've counted and we have seen the time 11:11 for the past 6 nights! Stupid story, I know, but very eerie...

Ok, ready for one more stupid story? This also transpired from events about three years ago. James and I read our scriptures with each other every night and it wasn't long before James realized that I have issues with pronouncing words. It's not that I don't know how to pronounce words, the problem is in how my brain sees the word. The word that I trip up on, even to this day, is compromise. Can I just say that this word is in the Book of Mormon A LOT! I know the word, and I know how to say it, but like I said, my brain is my enemy. The way I end up pronouncing it is com (as in .com) promise (as in, I promise). James and I have shared a good laugh about this many times. The joke between us became about what kind of a promise a com-promise was. We decided it was the ultimate promise. It has become so much a part of our vocabulary with each other that we end up saying it to other people by accident! When trying to prove a point, instead of saying, "I promise", we say, "I com". I know I've said it to my mom, several of my friends, and James has said it to several of his friends. We have gotten some odd looks.

Another stupid story right? Oh well. I still hope you enjoyed them to some extent, I com. ;)

Warning: Graphic in Nature!

Did you read his shirt? It's true.

Logan....ahhh....there are no words to describe him. No other person in this world has made me laugh harder or want to tear out my hair more than this little guy.

Logan potty trained fairly quickly and we have had relatively few accidents since then. The accidents that we did experience were fairly normal ones, like wetting the bed in the middle of the night. Then Logan surprised us. We were enjoying a nice quiet Sunday evening. Logan was in and out of the house, but playing very nicely on his own. At one point James walked outside and discovered poop. Yep, poop. Logan, who never once has gone to the bathroom without my helping him pull his pants down and up, decided that while he was outside he needed to poop. I wouldn't have believed that it was him except for the evidence in his underwear...oh yeah, and the fact that he said he had done it. *sigh*

I still love him.
